Can I translate a picture of Braille?
No. This tool accepts typed English or pasted Unicode Braille characters. It does not use a camera, scan an image, recognize raised dots, or perform OCR. If the source is a photograph or tactile page, use a dedicated recognition workflow and obtain a human check for the code and context.
Which Braille code does it support?
The form is limited to Grade 1 UEB for English. Grade 2 contractions, mathematics, music, chemistry, foreign-language Braille, and technical codes require a separate code reference or qualified transcriber. Do not use this bounded conversion as a substitute for that code-specific workflow.
Can it convert both directions?
Yes. Choose Text to Braille for typed English input or Braille to text for Unicode Braille input. Keep the direction explicit and compare the source with the converted result. A reverse conversion cannot recover context that the cells do not contain, and a typed result still needs a symbol check.
Does it handle numbers and capitals?
The conversion contract includes capital indicators and number signs, and you can make those areas review priorities. Use a current code reference to inspect each numeric sequence, uppercase name, punctuation mark, and space. A missed indicator can change how a reader interprets the following cells.
Is the result officially certified or accessibility-approved?
No. The tool produces a typed conversion draft and review notes. It does not certify Braille accuracy, tactile quality, accessibility compliance, educational suitability, legal effect, or approval by an authority. Important material needs a qualified reviewer familiar with the code and intended use.
Does it control a Braille display or embosser?
No. The page returns text or Unicode Braille, not hardware commands. A Braille display or embosser needs a separate workflow, and tactile spacing must be tested with the target device. Inspect cell order and spacing on the actual hardware before delivery.
